XLab nanoflator

My previous CO2 inflator had a trigger, so I just mounted it on my valve stem, squeezed, and jumped back on my bike with a newly inflated tire. I just got the xlab nanoflator and can’t get it to do its job. I screw on the CO2, push the nanoflator onto my valve stem, and then unscrew the CO2 slightly. I can hear the CO2 escaping, but very slowly and apparently not into my tire. After a few minutes I removed the empty cartridge (yes its that slow), and the hole in the top is tiny (my old inflator punched a much larger hole). Do I have to use xlab specific cartridges, or am I just a dumbass?

Should work for any threaded cartridge…

I have this system but I haven’t yet gotten a flat. Call xlab customer service and please post here again. Xlab CS is really good.

You have to push the whole screw on part (nanoflator) to one side (relative to the co2 canister) to get air to flow into the valve. This is your effective trigger.

No, unscrewing the cartridge slightly is what releases the CO2 in the nanoflator. I think you are thinking of the speedchuck, which has a spring loaded head which you do push on to release the CO2.

Bang
you got me.
I think I looked at the nanoflator and picked the speed chuck because of this spring valve design. I can use part of a cartridge and save some for later This has served me well in races.

Maybe the nanoflator has a bad seal?

Maybe the o-ring on the nanoflator isn’t seated correctly and isn’t allowing the cartridge to screw in properly.

The Speed Chuck is indeed awesome…easy to control.

Thanks for the thoughts, I’ll check out the seal when I get home. It looked okay last night, but I didn’t pay it too much attention. The nanoflator was included in my flatwing kit I just bought.
