Xlab Gorilla on Speed Concept

Can you mount an Xlab Gorilla cage on the speed concept mono extension if you buy the Bontrager Bracket, or do you need to drill new holes in the cage itself?

Looking to put Gorillas behind the saddle and BTA for HIM.

Yes you can. If you have the bracket the cage will mount to it. I use the same set up.

What about a XLab Torpedo? Anybody know if that will fit? With room for a bike computer in front of it (between the hands?)

I run the torpedo cage bta with a barfly computer mount out towards my hands. I mount the torpedo cage as rearward as possible.

I’ll save you a bunch of money. Buy the Xlab spacer kit (http://www.trisports.com/...HKyskCFQH3Hwod9E4H7g) for $7.
Use one spacer and bolt for the front hole of the cage. Use two zip ties for the back hole and tie to the armrest wing. If you want you can use two spacers and build your own bracket with a piece of whatever and a drill  I experimented with one of those aluminum rulers (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Empire-48-in-Aluminum-Straight-Edge-Ruler-4004/100118266) and cut a piece out to make the bracket. In the end decided to use two zip ties instead.

You’re welcome… unless you have $80 to burn on a bracket.

Use a Profile Design computer bridge. It barely fits between the monoextensions ends and ends up directly between your hands (at least using the ski bends mono extension).
I had to remove the tape but it fits. I don’t use tape on the extensions anyway but if you do you can remove it temporarily and tape around it after you mount it.

Thanks. i was planning on buying this kit: http://www.trekbicyclesuperstore.com/product/bontrager-speed-concept-between-the-arms-mount-kit-242045-1.htm?variations=74869&gclid=CLXEod3PyskCFQ0XHwodrH4FLw

and then wouldn’t have to result to zip ties.

Yes. I mount my computer in front of the Torpedo for fulls. The bracket gives you a few options of how far forward you mount the cage. When using a regular bottle I mount it farther back. When using the Torpedo I actually mount the cage further up because it extends far back past the back of the cage. I use the aero bridge between the bars up front for my computer.

I just did this this past fall. I was loathe to spend on another cage when I had paid quite a bit for the SC setup, but I finally got so fed up with the loose grip of that Bont. cage, I switched to the Gorilla. Only thing I regret is not doing it sooner!

this is perfect. they used to not sell just the bridge. you were forced to spend on the whole bridge/cage set.

I use an XLab Torpedo with a Garmin 520 on a K-Edge mount in front. Works very well for me.

the bontrager bridge thing is not cheap but with that you can mount any cage you like in a variety of positions simply and securely. i figured having spent big money on the bike i shouldn’t scrimp on the details but up to you.
i have a torpedo on top of that and then a zipp tt gamin mount between the extensions just short of the bend which puts my garmin 500 just clear of the torpedo bottle. all works well for me.

I agree completely, that Bontrager mount is nice. My LBS threw it in for free when I bought my SC.
