Xlab Delta Wing with Cervelo P2/P3/P4

Has anybody been able to mount an Xlab Delta Wing on a Cervelo P2/P3/P4 with the saddle in the forward seatpost position? I use an Arione saddle in the forward seatpost position and the rear seatpost hole extends so far back that it does not permit mounting of the Xlab Delta Wing. Has anybody been able to come up with a solution to this problem?

Candice - XLAB will know, PM her.

XLab makes a Cervelo P2/3/4 specific mount, the Sonic Wing.

Will do.

I am interested in the Delta Wing because it places a single bottle right up behind the rider. The Sonic Wing is designed for two bottles, a lunch box, and a bike mechanic. Trying to keep things as clean as possible.

Hi,

If you can send me a picture with your saddle in the forward seat post position I can perhaps answer more accurately. I will be looking at how forward on the saddle rails you are. I know that the Delta Wing can fit on Cervelo P2/P3/P4 when it is in the back position. Thanks!

Hi Candice,
Take a look at this picture from the Cervelo website http://cervelo.com/en_us/bikes/2012/P3/ . I am using the same saddle pushed forward maybe a couple of more mms. The seatpost in this position goes back maybe 1 cm too far. Thanks.

I called xLab about this about two weeks ago. The guy I talked with was very nice, but right now, they don’t appear to have anything that would allow the delta wing to be attached to the seat in the forward position.

He also left me with the impression that one might be coming in the future, but a model is not imminent either.

Thanks twomarks. It looks like the Delta Wing will be going back to the store. Back to trying to figure out how best to attach a single bottle cage directly behind the saddle on my Cervelo.

Yes unfortunately the Delta Wing won’t work that far forward. Sorry about that.

Check out the Beaker Concepts wing. The unit I have of theirs has the ability to have 2 side mounted cages or 1 single, rear mounted cage. I used is on a P3 with the saddle in the forward hole position. It hangs sort of low but allows your leg to clear when mounting/dismounting. I then used a camera case for my flat kit that fit within the wing.

I have a Beaker Concepts rear holder, but it holds a single bottle well out from the saddle. I am looking for a solution that will tuck the bottle neatly behind the saddle. The design of the P2/P3/P4 seatpost makes this a problem when the saddle is mounted in the forward position.
