Do you ever get off from a really terrible bike ride and swear you are going to quit cycling forever? 30+ mph winds makes any attempt at aero impossible. God I hate this place, get me outta here.
To make this worth-while, on my road bike, every time I go into the drops I feel like I can’t breath, but if I sit up and ride on the hoods I feel like I am gaining too much wind resistance. Is this just a poorly fitted bike?
I say that about Florida nearly everyday, except I curse the heat/humidity. Everyday I swear I’m going to give up triathlons, move to another state with mountains and start climbing again.
If you can’t breathe while in the drops it’s a positioning issue (ex. you might need a shallower bar, might need to shorten the reach, etc.).
As for FL and WY…come over to Cali!!! Killer scenery, low humidity (here in NorCal), outdoor riding all year, bike lanes galore, great shops. The only problem is that you will get beaten out for AG honors by some ex-pro.
