(1) When you hit pause/stop is there any way to have the last lap to be displayed?
no, not sure if summary helps you
(2) Is there anyway to change HR zones without pausing and go into the Settings menu?
Not with this RS series, I know the function you want
(3) When reviewing a previous workout, is there anyway to have the HR zone summaries display my personally inputted zones instead of the SmartZones?
Did you modify your Sport Zones? Are you doing a Basic or Interval “Exercise”?
I also have the S120 and it can perform all three above. Was kinda hoping the RS200 could also.
While I like the upload page for the RS200sd, it would be nice to have a way to export that data from polarpersonaltrainer.com to excel to put in my training log.
The RS200 does not collect data points. Data points get recorded and downloaded(HR curves, speed etc). The Polar concept was a very technical athlete who had a priority to download, would buy up to a different unit, S625x, and now the RS400/800. Our goal is to educate consumers and our retailers to answer these question prior to purchase, and now I can field some of these questions.

(1) Thanks for the clarification, and no the summary doesn’t help. Ideally, I wanted to be able to see the last lap while I am in b/t sets at the pool. That way I can see how long I just swam. No biggie, I’ll continue to use the S120 in the pool.

(2) Thanks for the confirmation.

(3) I don’t have the watch in front of me, but I thought the RS200 always collected HR data…meaning there is no basic mode (I could be wrong…I just don’t remember seeing that option like the S120 has). Again, IIRC, I thought the SportsZones would calculate all the zones based on one inputted number (e.g. Max HR) and then output all the zones. I want to be able to set all the zone and then see summary times of each zone after the workout. Again, not sure if this is possible.
It is Sports Zones. When you enter your MAX HR under USER, the Sports Zones defaults the 5 zones, Z1(50-60%),Z2(60-70%),Z3(70-80%),Z4(80-90%),Z5(90-100%). You will get a zone summary after every workout. You can adjust/customize your zones away from the default.
Slightly off-topic, but still related to the RS200, I was lucky to win one at a race this summer. I haven’t used it yet, in part because the direction booklet is so long… but that’s my laziness more than anything. However, I will learn how to use it, if I knew that it works well for trail running distance and speed. But if it’s based upon stride length and you are consistently changing that as you dodge roots, rocks and go up/down steep hills, how accurate can it be?
Honestly, it is tough to compare and answer. How many rolling, rocky trails are measured? None that I have run. If a trail was wheeled, gps, and then run with a S1/S3 footpod would we know. I have run with the owners of Shore Runner in NJ in the Atlantic Highland trails and my RS800sd read 5 miles and they always thought it was about 5 miles. I am not dodging the answer, but we need an accurate trail run under your conditions, not a flat, pretty trail with no variables and then get a Polar owner to run it.
That’s a great start. Have 1-3 people ride it with different cyclometers,(get an average distance) then run it. I guess I could ask my mtn bike friends on Long Island then do a trail run. I bet I could even do it while on the Polar time clock, and test the S1,S3 and GPS, field testing!!!
