Now that I have a cyst on my wrist that requires surgical removal I am wondering if the weight of the watch or the bluetooth and gps features are screwing up my body chemistry. The cyst formed right at the point that the buckle on the strap meets the underside of my wrist.
Has anyone else noticed something similar? How was the surgery to remove the cyst?
It might not be from the watch. Much more likely it is from gripping bike handlebars, lifting, typing on computer or smart phone, etc. It can also just happen due to life’s vicissitudes and strains, and it can recede on its own.
I occasionally get what I think is one on the top of my wrist (and I have a Fenix) but it usually recedes after a week or so. Haven’t tried using the Bible-thump technique for getting rid of it.
I have no comment on the watch part of your post, but I had a ganglion cyst on the back of my wrist that I slowly got rid of myself. When I went for my initial dr. consult he showed me that if I pushed really hard on it, it sort of deflated. I did this once or twice a day for several weeks (a month? I really don’t recall) and it eventually stopped refilling. I opted to not try the “bible thumping” method.
(This is one of those weird things that I had forgotten *entirely *I had until I saw your post just now. I only now realize that at some point it never came back and I never noticed until today. It’s been at least 2 years now since I had it.)
My GF had a cyst on the wrist. It was surgically removed… and the body promptly grew a bone spur in the same spot. Which was worse than the cyst. The bone spur kept cutting her internally and she had a near constant muscle tear and a deep bruise there for something like a year or two until the bone spur disappeared on its own.
Doubt it had anything to do with the watch.
FWIW, we have an MD in the family. He once asked to see someone’s cyst at a family get together and whacked it with a telephone book. It worked.
Same thing happened to me. The WiFi more than the bluetooth. It changed my body chemistry to the point where now I can connect to WiFi networks without any sort of electronic device.
I doubt it’s the watch. Probably more just life stuff (typing, etc).
I had one on the top of my wrist and I did a modified bible bump to get rid of it. I actually placed my wrist in a doorway and slowly pulled the door on the cyst. I positioned my hand so the corner of the door was right on top of the cyst. I actually didn’t need to pull hard at all before it ruptured and went away. That was maybe 8 years ago and it has never come back.

I had one on my ankle once, caused by my initiation of an exercise program (running) after years of sedentary living. Doctor said it would probably recede on its own, but that if I wanted to, he could “aspirate” it. No-brainer. I left alone, and it went away in a few weeks and never came back. No big deal.
Yup. Definitely the cause. I can cure you. Let me take that damned Fenix off your hands. I will sacrifice my health, by taking the watch away from you.

Nice! I read your post and then put the watch back on upside down (I’ve been wearing it on my opposite wrist since noticing the cyst) and cranked the strap to apply pressure to the cyst… and the cyst is already gone!!!
