Anybody know where I can buy 2 bike hooks or some other way to economically store 1 or 2 bikes?
Thanks.

Home Depot and Lowes have them cheap. Your LBS has them not-so-cheap.
But what am I looking for?
I have a box full of them…they are question mark shaped vinyl covered hooks with a screw base. I’ll mail you a couple if you can’t find em locally…but Home Depot/Lowes etc should have them.
Like this. Probably $5-$6 or so at HD or Lowes.

Awesome.
Do I need to screw them into anything or just straight into the ceiling?
Yeah, if you are going to hang the bike in a part of your house or garage that is drywalled you’ll need a studfinder to figure out where the stud is. Otherwise if you just go into plain drywall they’ll pull right out when you put your bike on em. You try to get away with using a drywall hanger type insert but honestly I wouldn’t…bike is bulky as well as heavy and it’s going to be near the capacity of the weight they are rated for (usually 30 lbs max). Once you add a little movement or a hard bump and its going to put a larger force on the hanger and pull a nice chuck out of your ceiling. Find a stud and screw it in (insert joke here if you like). Or hang it where the studs are exposed ie garage/basement etc.
Yeah, it’s in my apartment, so I’ll just do it in my room. I really hope the studfinder finds a beam where I want to hang them!
As an aside, any problem hanging them above a radiator in terms of damaging the tire/wheel/bike/cables…anything?
I might try a different location…tires and tubes would probably be the main thing though the constant drying/heating could affect the decals/finish as well. Depends on how hot it is but it’s not ideal IMO.
just a thought, studs should be 16" apart so if you are hanging 2 bikes you could get a decent board (maybe 2x6) that is about 3’- 4’ long and screw that into 2 or 3 studs. then put your bike hooks into that board. you could put smaller hooks between/beside the bikes for helmets an stuff. good luck.
