Wrestling Singlet for short course

Any former wrestlers use their singlets for racing up to Olympic distances? What was your experience?

I’ve thought about this as well! Have never done so but what the hell…have fun with it! Get yourself a RWB headband and dominate!

Funny but good question. As a former wrestler and now triathlete, I would say it may not work. My concern would be on the swim and the straps coming off. Would you probably be fine, yeah. But I wouldn’t want to be fiddling with my strap in the middle of a mile swim. If they are really tight/form fitting you could be fine, but if it has any slack in it at all then I wouldn’t -YMMV

I’ve thought about it as well. My biggest concern would be that I don’t think they shed water well. I think you would get on the bike and it would be saturated, saggy and baggy.

My second biggest concern is the lack of chamois, if you could get over that then I think it would suffice.

Better be a pretty high-cut singlet. A women’s singlet would work better in the water than any men’s singlet, I think. Tri suits tend to be made of much more compressive fabric; singlets have more stretch…at least all of my lycra ones did…the old cotton-poly ones would be horrendous in a tri…I don’t want to think about that chafing…

Having worn briefs in the 80’s and 90’s the lack of chamois is not a deal breaker. Seam placement can be.

Singlet & headgear would be super sweet!

And wrestling shoes for the run to complete the ensemble
