Guys, I just went to put on my new F99 254 stem onto my bike with ITM Millenium 26 diameter bars but they don’t seem to fit in. I removed the rubber plugs from the top and bottom of the stem to see if it fits better, but no difference. What am I missing? I’m sure the two are compatible.
“Available to fit 25.4mm MTB handlebar and 26.0mm”
Did you by chance get the wrong size?
Not unless I have had the wrong size stem or bars shipped. The invoice from Gypzybikes for the stem says F99 254 90mm 6 degree black and the invoices from Parkers International says ITM Millenium 42 26 diameter (Strada). I guess one of them is wrong? What are the rubber plugs for in the stem?
I’m guessing the 254 in the invoice indicates it’s a 25.4 stem, rather than a 26.0 stem (which is what you need). You have the wrong stem.
That’ll be it, SHIT! Now I have to send it back to Germany and wait for it to return!
Thanks for clearing it up though, Jason.
The rubber plugs help hold the handlebar in place so you don’t need to fumble around trying to attach the face plate and bolts.
