Swapping out cables tonight and the cable stop is stuck in the bar end shifter. I’ve tried a few drops of lubricant and to push it out with a needle nose pliers and it wont budge. I’ve also tried to find a manual from SRAM on how to completely disassemble the shifter but again, no luck. Anyone had this problem before? Any ideas on how to get it out? Thanks

Put a few drops of lube in and leave it overnight to penetrate.

Grab the cable near the exit point on the shifter with pliers and twist it to try to break the corrosion loose.
If all else fails, cut the cable as close in as you can, and tap it out using a metal rod (set pin, dowel, old drill bit, etc.).
Are you are talking about the shift cable and not the housing right? I’d try to remove the shifter from the bar end mount first.
The head of the cable is probably corroded so it won’t come out. I’d cut off the cable relatively close to the shifter, and then use a spoke, punch, or other small diameter object to try to push the cable head out from the backside.
Correct, I am talking about the shift cable. I’ll try the suggestions and see what happens. Thanks
sheesh, quit sweating on your bike…
.
Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up getting it out with a punch and a needle nose.
I’ve thought about just mounting it on the wall and when people comment on it, I’ll just talk about what a stud I use to be. I think people would be impressed.
