Ahhhh, my eyes!!! FORMATTING.
You were saying?..
It looked good when I pasted

Someone that the guy in 7th or 8th may wish had turned pro depending on how goes.
On a somewhat related note. Men’s 35-39 had a huge gal after 3rd. Kq slots were prime for the taking at a time almost 10 minutes shower than last year.
Also another swim stud going down in flames of glory in there too. Laid down a 48, rolled a descent bike at 5:23 then the wheels came off. Thar a hard way to finish a race. I have a lot of reflect for the “non - runners” that tough it out.
Then again, I might trade 50min on the run to come out of the water in our near the lead.
Brunold has won his AG and been fastest amateur at WI for many years, until this year. I think he was 5th overall in 2011. He was an olympian in 92 in some kind of kayaking. I think he went 9:0x in Kona in 2011 as well.
O-chem professor(i think) at UW, originally from Germany. Been fast for a long time.

Not sure what he teaches but his work is more physical bioinorganic (I have collaborated with him on a project). He is a smart guy who obviously can cover 140.6 miles rather quickly as well.
dude is putting the rest of us 40-44s to shame! Impressive.

His name just sounds fast.
Once I rode with him on a long ride.
I drafted my ass off and after 3.5 hours and a NP of 255 My tounge was dragging on the ground, I told him to leave me behind. Probably the hardest ride of my life to that point.
He showed me his cervo and the AP was 294.
One of the nicest guys I’ve had the pleasure to meet.
Thomas is an endurance animal with many, many years of consistently fast IM times. Professor here at UW in Madison. Usually does the IMWI / Kona double. Kona podium many times. Decided not to go to Kona this year. Kona bike / run is usually right around 4:55 / 3:00. Had been 1st AG finisher in last 7 straight IMWI races (took 2nd today). Has finished in Top 5 overall a few times and always in the top 15 overall. Today’s effort of 9:14 at IMWI and 13th overall is even more impressive when you consider he is 44.
Absolute class act and good dude all around.

I had the pleasure of meeting him last year at IMMoo and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. We exchanged e-mails and he has offered up great advice to me. Very talented athlete!!! I believe he has won the OA AG the past 2 years.
The coolest thing about watching him race is how smart he is. Being at mile 30/70 for awhile I got to see the race unfold. At mile 30 he was up there, but pretty far back from the lead age groupers. By mile 70 he completely blew most of the people away who were ahead. Shows how important pacing is at IMWI. As always, he looked super comfortable on the run.

Average power of 294, for a 3.5 hour ride, is very impressive (to me). Wish I could do that
I’ll also say that his new Speed Concept seemed to help. He looked a lot more aero as he blew past me. Thomas said it was a last minute decision to buy it. Good for him, very bad for me. 4:50 vs 5:13
Did he have the new Speed Concept or the old one?
Old one.

I would be happy with 20 minutes.
