During my holiday in France, I stayed nearby Embrun. Because the scenery is absolutely marvelous for triathlon (great lake, giant hills), I 've checked the website of this famous LD race. But, what I found really surprised me. Is this the original website ??? Check this :
I am wondering if they would win a contest of shitiest race website. Or are there races with even a worse one ?
I’m surprised to find they have one. Just one or two Years ago they had not. But the competition is really great.

maybe the money saved on the website is used for great support and pro purse bigger than most IMNA races despite entry fees that are much lower

i would suggest having a site to begin with indicates at least a desire to do well.
lots of events have no site period. now they have something to build upon. have you offered ideas to the RD to make the site more user friendly?
Who cares about the looks has long you have all the information you need to register, course information (map), race schedule and the pre-race updates… Bells and whistles are just bonus. (nice intro, previous race picture, past results, race records, etc)
I am sure all the web developers will jump all over me, but that site is perfect. It gives you all the info you need about the race and none of the other crap you don’t. A nice clean page.
Maybe I am old school but I love web sites which are 99% text. Must be the sysadmin in me coming out.

The French version has a lot of info on the opening page. They received 800 entries for a limit of 400 places. Looks like Embrunman is back !!
