World Track Championships-Question

I have just watched the individual pursuit and noticed that Bartko seemed to be riding a Felt with 650 wheels, is that right? OR is he exceptionally tall, hence the tall head tube etc? I guess SuperDave would know for sure. If that is the case what would the rationale be behind it, reduced rolling resistance?

Interesting that Paul Manning of GB placed third with a winning time that was 3 seconds faster than the Champion posted.

Here’s “our girl” Karin Thuerig, 4th in the Individual Pursuit

THanks, John. THat cleared it up nicely.

He’s a pretty big guy–and the headtube is actually pretty small–but he has a ton of stack. I’m pretty certain those are 700C.

A better question–did he lose his shoe covers???

Good question, can’t say I noticed them. They certainly didn’t show it if he did, I fancy he didn’t wear any. A number of riders didn’t. Although all of the riders for the kilo did, including Chris Hoy who took the title.

The is the super rare and exotic FES Superbike. With 70 mm front and 100 mm rear axle spacing everything on that bike is a one-off.

He rides 700s and like most other top track cyclists wouldn’t be caught dead with a “stock” bike.

Hey Dave, thanks for the update. He must be ones seriously tall dude!

Are you telling me you don’t have one of those? Seriously, what was that black stealth fighter you posted up last year that you were using?

Big and tall, looks like 1.88M in the bio and 80 kilos.

Shoe covers have been banned I read on another forum. Strange!

Hmm, that’s got my curiosity up! You had better share when the time is right, Dave.
