I have the same issue. It’s even worse in the Politics forum as the rules of engagement post is so long I can only see that post on the screen. Makes the forum pretty unusable.
If y’all can also give us an idea on version of OS and browser you’re running on those iPads…it’d help give us some threads to chase. As of now can’t replicate the issue.
I’m on OS 26.2.1, using Safari (because I’m old).
iOS 26.2.1 on iPad Air 5th Gen running Safari. And a correction, it’s ok on my iPhone running 26.3 running Safari.
Also okay on my iPhone. On my phone, the box to the left on my iPad (that has Forums, subcategories, tags) is on the top of the page, so it’s not taking up horizontal space like it is on the iPad.
No issues on my iPhone.
iPad is a mess using Chrome and iPadOS 26.2.1.
General thread reply: it appears to be a conflict in the theme code. We’ve flagged it for the Dev of the theme. That being said, there’s no immediate fix that we are aware of; we don’t customize the theme application to ST beyond what’s meant for initial customization (e.g., creating our version of Dark Mode) as…well…we don’t want the heart burn of when Discourse updates, it breaks the theme entirely for all users.
You could try viewing ST via the Discourse app instead on tablet…
That definitely looks like a scaling issue with the new layout. You might try checking your browser’s zoom settings or even clearing the cache to see if the responsive design resets properly for your screen size.
It occurs regardless of browser. I just installed Chrome to give it a try and it’s the same issue.
