looking for recommendations from the ladies out there, my wife wants a new one piece suit for swimming (our local park has a lake with lap lanes, yay!).
she’s had the roka suit before and did not like it, her body type is athletic but she has wide hips and the suit did not provide coverage that she was happy with and it was very hard for her to get it on over her hips. anyone recommend a suit that may fit this body type better, and/or has decent butt coverage?

Try Jolyn. Long lasting suits with a variety of coverage options. The tie back is great for athletic bodies. They fit TTS.
I have this TYR one that I like. https://www.tyrsport.ca/product-page/mhex It looks from the pictures like it would provide better hip coverage but I’ve never worn the ROKA one so can’t make a direct comparison.
for what it’s worth I usually wear a two piece under a one piece as a lot of the current styles of suits don’t provide a lot of coverage in the rear area. I would recommend against the Jolyn suits as they are very high cut in the back. If looking at TYR suits I would stick with anything with a diamondback style as these seem to provide more coverage in the lower regions. I can’t stand Nike suits…last wore one over 25 years ago, very high cut, felt like a Baywatch type suit. I would not go for any of the “fitness” style suits, they are more conservatively cut, but may not work over the hips and I can’t stand the built in shelf bras.

X3 for Dolfin Uglies, **the V-2 back. **Good coverage in the back, thinner straps. Suits last forever, lots of great prints.
I love Jolyn-slight build but they make all kinds of cuts/coverage and they last forever. Have her check out the website. Just an FYI they run really small, so size up. I will also say that no matter the cut, even the more minimal cuts, they stay in place and don’t move even through a tough workout. A big plus!!
