My laptop just died so I e-mailed Training Peaks to see if they would send me a new key code so I can get WKO+ onto my new laptop. They are more than willing to do that, but did reccomend updating to WKO+ 3.0 (I had 2.2).
Is it worth the $65 to upgrade or should I just stick with the WKO+ 2.2 that I have. They did mention that they will be phasing out all support for versions pre 3.0 over the next 12 months.
I am no Dr. Coggan when it comes to analysing my data, so not sure if there would be anything super useful to me on the newer version.
Any thoughts or suggestions out there?
I’m happy w/ it, and it has some neat features. I did it so I could upload my PC 6. I more follow a training plan and just use it to upload to my coach, but it does the trick.
I did the demo and found nothing even remotely compelling about the upgrade (taking into account the upgrade cost). If it was free or maybe 5-10 bux I would do it.
Multi-file analysis is neat, but in my case it has limited to no use
Scatter graphs / Quadrant analysis: again this is neat, but for a triathlete who does almost all steady state it has no value
I think that the way 3.0 downloads workouts is a step backwards in utility and adds extra hassle
I could care less about power profiling as a triathlete. Steady state rules baby!
If you have a bit of interest then you should download the 14 trial and give it a whirl.
If you have a 310XT then I would recommend the upgrade - had some very funny graphs and issues with files from the 310XT in 2,2. Went to 3.0 and all sorted.
Cheers
Thanks for the replies. I am a total beginner with using power and basically look to see what my average power for an interval was and maybe see where in a race I was above, below or at my goal wattage. I also just use my powertap head unit, So I am guessing that 2.2 will do me just fine unless I become knowledgeable super quick. Thanks again.
