Wko 4

can it be used to track running stats as well or is it strictly for use with power/cycling?

Is it possible to use data from a Concept2 in WKO4?

Thanks Andrew. Nice webcast last night…I won’t tell you I fell asleep halfway through your segment though. Don’t take it personally…two young kids.
Great looking software though.

WKO4 imports new data 3 different ways:

  1. by synchronizing with TrainingPeaks online;

  2. via TrainingPeaks’ Device Agent; and/or

  3. directly, for Garmin devices generating .fit files.

(Of course, it also reads the prior .wko file format.)

Does WKO4 use the same power duration model for rowing as cycling?

Does WKO4 use the same power duration model for rowing as cycling?

Conceptually, yes.

As I showed during the original webinars, it apples across a variety of sports (e.g., cycling, running, swimming, speed skating), at least once you take into consideration the difference between measuring power and measuring speed (i.e., average velocity during short events will be reduced due to the acceleration required).

FWIW, I also tried to find good data for other species (e.g., horses, dogs, racing pigeons) to use to test the model, but could not. If anyone knows of any, though, I’d still be interested in giving it a whirl.

If my coach purchases wko4, will I be able to use wko4 too or do I have to purchase it as well?

I guess that depends upon how you define “use.”

You could certainly send your workouts to your coach (or let them have access to your TP Premium account), who could load them into his copy of the program, do analyses, prescribe workouts, etc. You yourself, however, would only have access to what he decides to send your way (e.g., screen captures).

Andrew,

I’m watching the webinar and I’m impressed. I have done some very basic looking into rowers power duration. It seems to be very different to cycling. If you look at rowers 2,000m 5,000m 10,000m and 60 min powers their power is different in that their power drops off more substantially than cyclists.

However, your WKO 4 individualisation will take care of this.

It is probably an isolated case, but I assume you advise one should use rowing FTP for rowing and cycling FTP for Cycling?

The auto FTP will set it For rowing and cycling I assume?
