We are out of town this weekend and I have to do a spin class instead of my regular outdoor ride. My shoes have Look Keo cleats on them. Will those work in a spin bike?
Thanks! This is a nice gym (Universal in Lancaster PA) and the bikes are new.

They should fit.
However, does this gym allow pedals to be installed on their spin bikes?
Oh, I’m not installing a thing! I misspoke. I mean will look CLEATS fit into the spin bike pedals that are already on the bike?
Most likely not.
To the extent spin bikes accept clip in cleats, they are usually SPD comparable. Give the club a call and check.
As posted above, unless you switch out the pedals on the bike, look keo cleats will NOT work on spin bikes.
Spin bikes most typically have two types of pedals: flat ones that work with gym or running shoes, or spd pedals that work with cycling shoes that already have a shimano spd cleats installed.
Don’t know your gym but at the LifeTime brand of gyms they have SPD/Look double sided pedals and then flats that clip on.
I’ve verified this at the Roseville, Ca and North Scottsdale, Az clubs.
I have found gym stationary exercise bikes are usually dual-sided flat and SPD, and spin studios are dual-sided Look Delta and SPD. Different audiences with different needs from the bike. If it’s a class at the gym, it’s probably the latter.
When spin bikes or studios mention Look compatibility, they are only ever talking about Look Delta. Spin studios seem perfectly happy sticking with the original 1984 design. Heavy spinners can walk into any studio and know their shoes will work. No Keo anytime soon, which is sad; I’d love to use my road shoes indoors without buying a separate setup.
You may already be there… but just bring your shoes and pedals, along with your allen wrench and switch the pedals out before class- will take you 2 minutes!
As others have said its not likely that the pedals are compatible with your cleats.
I would think that a spin studio wouldn’t want you changing the pedals on their bikes.
+1
all spin bikes I’ve seen are SPD or Look Delta (not KEO). KEOs are just a bit different and you won’t clip in properly. I used these to convert my old trivents to use on spin bike
