Will Haute Route be coming back to the US?

Did a search but nothing popped up…

Was hoping to find a spring Haute Route event in the US for 2022. Looks like that’s a thing of the past as far as I can find online. Anyone out there hear that they may be back in '22? Traveling to Europe for one isn’t off the table but I would certainly prefer to stay domestic just due to easier logistics.

Thanks in advance.

i don’t know the answer to your question. but to that point, i had a long talk with a good friend of mine who’s been a champion in his day at running, cycling and duathlon, and i told him the event i really want to do, which is a trans-sierra trip, swim bike and run, from the west side to the east side and back. camping, but catered. top cabin. hard work during the day, luxury at night. we have probably a staff of 8, and we take 8 people.

Stay tuned, a new 3-day event is in the works in CO next year, should be announced in a couple weeks.

If that is true and App mtns lost their event I wish they would run the GFNS USA cycling climbing fondos consecutive weekends or two on same weekend with some kind of cumulative time.

I am burned out on the high kilogram high power flat local crit road racer junk and looking to swing my w/kg guns a little bit instead. I love the NC mountains and brewery food scene.

Or find a weekend of sat/sun where two fondos or gravel things just happen to overlap.

I might be interested. I was leaning towards a bike focus ‘22 but your gig sounds like something I’d do. I like off the grid non marketed stuff for sure. I’ve been off of ST for the last couple of years so I may have missed any articles about this. More info?

I’m in the SE, too. Hope something like this gains momentum.

You have my attention and I’ll def keep eyes & ears open.

With the news today that IRONMAN acquired Haute Route, looking forward to see what this is all about

Haute Route had a go at the U.S. Market a few years back, pre-COVID, but being such a European based operation, I don’t think they really had much of a chance in NA. Now with IM in charge, this changes many things!

Thanks for update. If one doesn’t come to the Blue Ridge area again, I’ll just see if some like skilled buds want to do a DIY out of it. Only one teammate is skinny enough to handle haute elevation back to back days but I know a couple locals that would go climb and drink beer.

Assuming you’re referring to SBT TRVL that was announced today? A bit rich for my blood.

Whoa, didn’t see that. This does seem like a good move by IM.
