Will a 11 speed crankset/chain rings work with 10 speed drive train?

will a shimano 105 10 speed drive train
work with a newer 11 speed 53/39t 105 crank set ?

why ?

Yes, no problem. I run a 10sp Dura Ace drive train with an 11 so Dura Ace chainset.

i want to change crank set length
but the replacement crank set says it is for 11 speed.

if 11 speed 105 is compatible with 10 speed 105
… i will swap them out right away.

Cranksets are not dependent on the number of speeds in the rear cluster. Your swap will work just fine.

The crankset may be part of an “11 speed grouppo”, but it’s not 11 speed-specific.

I’m running an Ultegra 6800 crank with an Ultegra 6770 di2 gruppo. The crank’s 11 sp and the shifters, cassette and chain are 10p. No problems.
