Wildlife Loop Triathlon - Up to $20,000 in prize money - Custer State Park SD - September 6th

One again, The 12th annual Wildlife Loop Triathlon will take place on September 6th, 2025 in Custer State Park, South Dakota, and offers the most challenging 70.3 course there is. This will also be the South Dakota State Championship race through USA Triathlon. However, to make this challenge more appealing to participants there will be upwards of $20,000 in prize money split $10k male, $10k female. The prize money will be based off of 100 participants.

I’m advertising this late so do I think it will reach 100? Probably not, but for some it will still be easy money.

Once again, the prize money is based off of 100 participants. Meaning if there’s 60 participants, that’s 60% of the prize money.
There is a cap of 100 in the 70.3 distance as well.
The prize money is open to ANYONE, not just pros. So if no pros show up, then it will be a good day for ya.

I also do not tell people how many are registered in the event or who is because if you’re only coming for prize money then sorry
because that is not my goal. The goal is to have a nice, local iconic low key race.

This race also has an abundance of wildlife and will be the only course you will be able to race on that has Buffalo, elk, bighorn sheep, you can possibly see on the same course, along with other wildlife.(Don’t Pet the Fluffy Cows)

Events are as follows:

70.3 = up to $20,000 = capped at 100 participants % based
70.3 Relay = limited slots
Olympic = capped at 50 participants
Olympic Relay = capped at 50 mixed with open
Open Sprint = no cap
Club Sprint = no cap
Collegiate Draft

$3,000 1st
$2,000 2nd
$1,500 3rd
$1,000 4th
$ 500 5th
$ 500 6th
$ 500 7th
$ 500 8th not guaranteed atm
$ 250 9th not guaranteed atm
$ 250 10th not guaranteed atm

8th-9th-10th is not guaranteed because if something is needed to be purchased or an unforseen cost that comes about, that is where
that money will come from. I do not make money off of this race. it all goes back into the race.

As for swag you’ll be receiving an engraved beer glass, t-shirt, finisher medals, age group awards.
Remember if you’re wanting to compete for prize money there are limited spots and early bird pricing will be going on for only a few
more days.

The race takes place inside Custer State Park, so you will need a day pass if you plan on parking inside at the start.

If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks~

Good luck! This sounds awesome. Custer SP was my first introduction to the west on a road trip in college. Fond memories and beautiful area. Yes lots of wildlife

Awesome. Hopefully you’ve made it back to the area since
