He’ll probably lead the field during the swim with Mr. A on his feet (or the other way around), then go on to finish top 15.
Mr A. on the other hand will come off the bike first with a 3 minute lead, then get passed by Luke Bell around the halfway mark of the run, but hold on for 2nd.

No way Bjorn comes off the bike 3 minutes ahead of Walton, Lessing, Macca, and Lieto, Not sure what to expect from Miles Stewart.
I like Bjorn, but he *might *struggle to go top 5 in this race if everyone shows.
Prediction: Macca, Walton, Lessing fight it out for top 3. Bjorn, Miles, Cam Widoff, Luke, Lieto, fight it out for 4-8. Bolton could surprise and run himself to a good spot. Cam will definitely be in the mix. He always races well at WF. Jonas and Tom E. could be darkhorses.
Additional prediction: 2 of the above won’t finish due to DNF or DNS.
It will be interesting to see how the best Xterra triathlete in the world fares in the women’s field (Jamie Whitmore), though I don’t think she will be able to compete with such a strong field.
I am definitely with Jaylew on this one. Bjorn is a great athlete but he biked through a field at New Zealand that had weak bikers. I have **yet **to see anyone outswim Walton and then outbike him. Walton and Macca have **shown **time and time again that they can outbike the field.
You should all watch a young kid called Ben Harley who is in the pro field. I have seen him progress since he started and I’m telling you he will surprise quite a few. He won’t win but Macca uses him in training to push himself. He has beat Luke bell over this distance before and I think will turn a few heads at this race. He is definately a talent.
How anyone can go past Walton leading the swim I don’t know. He is regularly beating elite fields out of the water in OD’s by at times over a minute which is phenomenal considering how short those legs are. Then he’s going to jump on that Felt and pump it!
Although I haven’t seen much of the likes of Leito and co I have heard about how they ride…but I know Macca and Walton are every bit as likely to destroy a field on the bike as Bjorn…and they can do it with energy to spare because they aren’t shattered on the run.
Should be one hell of a race though…love to see the bikers get out there and give stick to the runners.
I’ve never said I was stronger on the bike than him, just that I didn’t know at that moment (I was asked) and that he clearly is a better swimmer. Right now he’s probably much stronger on the bike as well.
