Ok so I finally got my aero bars today. Apparently took time to clear the customs. Wait… why did the parcel have to go through customs if it’s coming from within Europe… Well as I found out it is actually coming from Canada. This was never mentioned anywhere before.
And the nice surprise is you have to pay an extra 10 € as you sign the delivery receipt for custom handling.
All I can say is I am not impressed with the service…
what?!!
you are in europe right?
never heard of wiggle dispatching from outside of the UK. take it up with wiggle.
are you sure you bought from wiggle.co.uk and not a canada site? (silly question i know)
anyone ever buy from these guys? the website is huge and the deals are unreal on a lot of things.
just wondering if anyone has any experience, i’m questioning what the “downside” is, nothing could be that great for so cheap!
Every time I needed something I checked both Wiggle and Probikekit and Probikekit has always been cheaper by a significant amount (anywhere from $10-$40). And I don’t have to spend a minimum amount to get free chipping from PBK.
The one transaction I did do from them was smooth though.
Yes I am in Europe indeed, in Belgium…right across the channel. And being one of their gold customer (ironically!) I’d think I would know where I placed my previous orders i.e wiggle.co.uk.
The parcel I received is boxed up in a wiggle.co.uk box but has a pre rate label on it stating canada customs and revenue agency ( bike parts )
so there is no doubt it went through customs in Canada. I surely intend to take it up with wiggle
Ok so just to finish the story. I took this up with wiggle customer service who claimed there is nothing they can do except providing me with the order details showing it is an intra european delivery and therefore I shouldn’t have paid any import duties.
I eventually dropped this as it is not worth for me driving to the customs office miles away and spend any more time arguing my case with the unlikely hope the customs will pay me back. If anything I expected wiggle to deal with this issue themselves. At minimum I would have expected they offered me a discount on my next order but they have decided to do nothing.
Surely I will never order anything from these guys anymore…
Your anger may be misdirected. The fault most likely lies with your customs and/or the postal system. I am in New Zealand and have ordered from Wiggle many times, often packages take only 3-4 days to reach me and never more than 10 days.
I have an internet based business and deliver all over the world. Some of the most problematic countries to deliver to are, rather unexpectedly, in Europe - in particular Switzerland, Italy and The Netherlands. Don’t know why.
NoBrakes. I am not blaming wiggle for the delay or the extra custom duties I had to support. The fault might be with the postal system or the customs. My point is regardless of whose fault it is I expect a more professional customer service. In this case I expect the seller (wiggle) to deal with customs formalities and any problems that may ensue from shipping and delivery. As far as I am concerned the transfer of ownership takes place once I have received and signed the delivery note. Anything taking place before that time must be dealt with by the seller.
I don’t see why I would have to go through the whole claims process with customs to recover the excess duties I paid. This should be dealt with by the Seller (Wiggle).
Personally, I would not advise to use wiggle.co.uk. I ordered since Sep, 17 (a 2XU trisuit and a Cateye Strada for more than 200€) and now, almost 30 days later, I’m still waiting.
They never answered any of my email; for all I know, the whole thing might just be a scam. Luckily enough, I paid with PayPal which could save me…
I live in Singapore, ordered from Wiggle on Monday and it arrived on Friday.
Shipping free if you spend above GBP 200
I also use CRC never had an issue
I have lost count of how many times i have shopped with wiggle and i have never encountered a problem.
I am in Australia so it is a long way from the UK, if it is a heavy item(drink powder) they tend to courier it and i have it within 5 working days and still do not get charged for postage over $85AUD.
If it is light then it usually takes about 10 working days.
Total disaster recently for me. Ordered chain, mechs, and shifters 1 August to ship to NZ. Never arrived. Had to wait until end of month before they could declare lost and reship. Time finally arrives and the shifters are now out of stock. So cancel the order and they refund the purchase price, but not the priority dispatch fee (for the items that never arrived, had to wait a month for and then were out of stock). In fairness to the person I was dealing with then she managed to override the system and refund that £3.99 too. Great. I ordered the parts from locally, and all sorted.
Then on the 15 of September I got a wierd email saying that my shifters were on back order. Odd. So emailed to say it was a bit odd. Next response was even more puzzling saying that it had shipped. So a week later then I get 2 parcels, one with the chain and mechs, then another with the shifters in. And I’ve not paid anything. So then have to pay to post it all back to the UK, but that’s OK as they are going to refund the postage. I got an email a week ago saying that they had received the parts and had refunded me 0.00. Cheers. So still waiting for the postage back. So my experience is that it should take a week to get here, but it if goes wrong then it all goes horribly wrong.

I have same experience - no problems with any orders or returns.
- Responding almost immediately if any questions or problems.
I’m also in NZ mate and have lost count of the amount of stuff I’ve bought of wiggle, and to date never had an issue. So have to put this just down to bad luck. So stick with them, I’m sure your next order will be fine.
I’ve heard a few reports filtering through of wiggle going off the boil lately with service.
They were one of the few places left that still carried 165mm compact Apex cranks. I ordered mine, and it arrived in 5 business days.
Also recently ordered tires from PBK, and they arrived in 4 business days.

I used to use them a lot when in the UK and stopped about 5 years ago at the time they changed their credit card processing system.
This was the first order since.
Chainreaction has been good throughout. Only once did it go wierd when I got a double order, but they seaid to either return it or in the end we ‘did a deal’ and I got it at cost (spare chains / cassettes / other consumables).
I do note that the unwanted resend from wiggle got here in less than a week. Murphy’s law.
Wiggle is my favourite online store for tri and outdoor stuff, bar none. Never had a problem with delivery. But I live in Norway, just across the Channel.
