Wiggle.co.uk

anyone ever buy from these guys? the website is huge and the deals are unreal on a lot of things.

just wondering if anyone has any experience, i’m questioning what the “downside” is, nothing could be that great for so cheap!

I’ve ordered from them a bunch of times. Prices are very, very good- especially if ordering from usa. dollar is a lot stronger than the pound. also try- www.probikekit.com and www.chainreactioncycles.com they have minimums or ship stuff free to u.s.

how long does shipping normally take? i don’t want to wait like 2 weeks!

I’ve ordered from them a few times. Shipping was reasonable, but it is overseas … so you’re not going to get it tomorrow. Very good business from my experience.

.

I was ordering to Hong Kong and things arrived within a couple of days. Usually things can take up to a week so wiggle definitely wasn’t slow (relatively) and I’d definitely use them again.

I’d say about a week or so from UK to Atlanta, GA area. You probably could pay for an expedited shipping option- I haven’t though.

well, i just placed an order for some sidi t2.6’s. they were too cheap to pass up at like $150. thanks for all of your advice.

Do you have a link to that page please? I would like a pair of t2.6s but their search doesn’t throw it up.

Cheers.

It says T-2 Carbon, but the picture is of the T2.6, and it says “Pearl White” which I believe is only available in the 2.6.

I just wonder how long it is going to take to get these!

Ah, I thought the difference was that the T2.6 had a full carbon sole and the T2 a nylon sole with carbon inserts. Thanks for clarifying that.

What delivery did they suggest?

wiggle are a great company… been shopping with them for years… they are a bit of a UK institution

i am based in the netherlands so is not so far far for it to be delivered… and more importantly i don’t have taxes to factor in…
but that low GBP is making my credit card do a lot of work these days

i totally recommend wiggle

I much prefer PBK. I ordered some mtb tyres from Wiggle and they:

~were fairly expensive to ship
~took a long time to get here
~included the cost of shipping with the price of goods (just one box) on the customs declaration invoice - meaning that I was charged CAD duty and taxes on the whole amount

Overall I think it would have been the same or even cheaper for me to have bought the stuff here, even though their initial price was good.

Ahhhh, now i’m questioning what i’m getting! I’m light, only 140 lbs, so the full carbon sole probably doesn’t matter AS much, but I’m hoping they’ll be the all white colors they show in the picture! Any thoughts? That would just be wrong if they shipped something different than the picture!

Wiggle are OK, I guess - at least they do have a real time inventory system which is rather the exeption among UK online retailers.

I think they did have a security mishap about two years ago - their customers’ credit card data was compromised…I didn’t encounter any fraud issues with mine howerver.

The central problem with Wiggle is they are certainly not selling stuff cheap. If you are going to ship from the UK - yeah, as other people suggested, try looking around - PBK price competatively; Chainreactioncycles are are a ripoff…let me think… ribble.co.uk - a scottish site, I think, always cheaper than wiggle.

I can imagine it’s great fun for you guys in the US now as the pound just bounced off many-year lows vis-a-vis USD a few weeks ago. Shipping should take perhaps a day or two longer than, say, California to East Coast. US has no import duties on bike stuff from the EU. Make sure you tell the UK site not to charge you VAT since they’d be posting outside the EU.

I wouldn’ be concerned, as far as I am aware the sole is the only difference. I would be VERY surprised if you didn’t get what’s in the picture.

Yeah, it was a couple of years ago that wiggle had the security issues and they cleared that by catching, sacking and taking proceedings against the wmployee(s) in question. They also completely re-organised their security too.

What makes you say Chainreaction arer a ripoff? I have always had very good service and incredibly fast delivery in my dealings with them. Also, they have been Single track world’s readers award winners for online shops for the last couple of years if not longer.

Can’t wait for the pound to start to rise again, but I guess it will be awhile until we can get bargains sent over again!

Oh, chainreactioncycles are probably nice people - I see them sponsor all grass roots cycling events around London and the south east too - that’s nice as well.

My statement was mostly based on pricing policy - perhaps the most important aspect of the likeability of an online ratailer for me.

As to the pound… I was very nice when it was trading at USD 2.10 - I got a P2C framest for like …900 sterling. But some people saw it as a bit of an extreme exchange rate - nothing to do with realities on the ground, etc. Well, 1.35-1.40 (Jan of this year??)has just as much to do with reality as 2.10, and eventually FX markets do come to their senses sooner rather than later, so…I am guessing before this year is out we will start seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

I purchased a Catlike Chrono Helmet from Wiggle.co.uk last week. Does anyone know if they update your order status with tracking # or anything like that? Thanks

No they don’t update the order status with tracking numbers. And if you selected Royal Air Mail for the shipping you might be in for some surprise.
I ordered some aero bars from them back on April 22nd. These were supposedly despatched on the 23rd as I selected express despatching.
Almost 2 weeks onwards I still have not received them. I live close by in Belgium, right on the other side of the channel.
Customer service tells me that it is normal that it takes up to 15 working days (i.e 3 full weeks ) regardless of your order confirmation stating it takes 4-7 days. On top of that they are not able to trace your parcel as I just found out in the worldwide delivery FAQ

"Please note that due to the economy nature of the Royal Mail service it is not possible to trace a delayed parcel until 28 days after shipping. "

So in case your parcel gets lost, expect it to take up to 6 weeks to reach you. So don’t get fooled about the free worldwide delivery for items over a certain value. If you need your item for a race you signed up for (like me) make sure you select the express delivery at extra cost…

in fairness to wiggle, this is more of an issue of the mail companies. wiggle are just choosing the least expensive service to keep costs down.

but i do agree the parcels are taking longer… more and more of my parcels from wiggle to holland are taking closer to three weeks despite being sent out on the same day.

i did actually have one wiggle package get lost (during the snow problems royal mail had earlier in the year). at the request of wiggle i waited three weeks and contacted them on 3wks1day. they immediately resent half of my order (which was in stock) and ordered the other half (which only took an additional two days to restock). so respect to wiggle for that (expected/hopedfor) service.
