Because he is on T-Mobile. Sure, Savoldelli just proved you can win a Grand Tour without a solid team. And T-Mobile is for sure, NOT a solid TEAM…Super-solid riders, sure…but TEAM they are not. So its even worse than not having a solid team…who do they ride for? Ullrich? Vino? My feeling is that both are heading for their best shape and chance to beat Lance. No problem if they were on seperate teams…but one is going to have to ride for the other…therefore…a team divided…and another Godefroot failure. You have to have ALL your ducks in a row to beat Lance and Discovery. I don’t doubt that it could be done…but no one seems willing to go that extra mile.
Anyway…despite Vino’s obvious fitness…he won’t win in July…
