Mavic is a French brand, so depending on where you are, their distributed may be more/less developed. In Southern Europe I have seen Mavic shoes quite a lot, I had that very same shoe myself (in an earlier version)
Mavic WHEELS were very popular at some time (about 10 years ago) but seems to have disappeared. Maybe overall Mavic is not doing so well?

Unsure what happened (from Wiki),but “In 2019 Mavic was sold by Amer Sports to the equity firm Regent, LP. After some ownership turmoil it was sold to Bourrelier Group in 2020.”
