a guy in my group ride has one, without all the bells and whistles. Love the graphics
I’d putt a Jammer Carbon on that bike and just ride it like that. Who cares if it isn’t a real tri bike…
“like this” being the geometry, the style, the paint, the position, the components, what?
Beautiful paint - Colnago artists are the best.
A bike with that much class.
That is my dream bike.
“It’s a beaut, Clarke. It’s a beaut.”
I love this frikkin’ bike…
When I bought a new bike last year, I narrowed it down to Colnago or Litespeed. I went with LS, and am very happy, but I have to say that Colnago’s are just plain gorgeous.
And those wheels…there’s not a better looking pair out there. I have the poor (and slow) man’s version in the Eurus…but someday, before I die, I have to ride these wheels…no matter how rediculous they’d look under me!!!
i’m racing a litespeed teramo with a jammer on it. rolls fine even if it isn’t a tri-bike D:
The C40s and C50s are beautiful (for that matter, all Colnagos are). I find the ride a bit squirrelly though…
You can’t buy class… oh, wait… you can, it’s only me that can’t afford it!!!
Isn’t that frame actually made in the PRC?
I thought the PRC was supposed to be a ‘classless’ society…
“I thought the PRC was supposed to be a ‘classless’ society…”
It is! But, like rednecks and hoodlums in the U.S., some of them are more classless than others…
I passed a middle-aged gentleman last week with the same frame (I’m not that fast and he was very slow). He had cheap clip-ons, was about 30 pounds over-weight, had headphones on listening to his i-pod and just looked like he had never ridden a bike before (knees way out, arms-locked, very stiff). I thought was a poser. This bike must be the equivalent to the mid-life crisis Porsche purchase.
Actually, I’d heard their mid-to lower end frames were made in Taiwan.
but how about this “classy” bike, where is the frame made? we all know its not italy.
The c50 Team is not one of their “low-end” bikes, so I would asume it is still made in Italy.
can you do some research for us the “i would assume” part?
i’ll bet you an ice cream cone it is made in the PRC, with the runner up being taiwan.

Kind of semantics but only the final production/assembly of the carbon components occurs at Colnago’s facilities in Italy. Because labor costs are so high, there are no companies in Italy capcable of making composite tubing (especially with the shapes used by Colnago) in large enough quantities to meet the demand. I have been told that the tubing and lugs are manufacturered at an undisclosed facility that also does a lot of composite work for several F1 teams, but it is understood that this facility is not located in Italy (or Europe for that matter).
“In other words, the Colnago production facility in Cambiago can compare its quality control systems to that of Mercedes-Benz M-Class factory in Alabama, the Breitling wristwatch factory in Switzerland.”
