Why do people

… Put a bag, swim cap, whatever over thier bike seat to keep it dry in transition.

Am i the only one who’s ass is wet after getting out of the swim…?

I’ve seen that and also people cover their bike completely in plastic if it’s going to rain overnight. I don’t understand it. Bikes can handle being rained on.

Your seat is too high.

Why do people start a thread without a descriptive topic?

I second this question.

Why?

Meh… who knows? Maybe they have pee stains on their otherwise beautifully white saddles that they are trying to cover up for shame’s sake.

Is it tough being so serious alk the time David? I raced yesterday, was up early and trying to kill some time before the family woke up. Next time don’t click on it if it bothers you so much. It was meant to be a humorous question, but apparently you and A_1 either have no sense of humor or are the people whos asses dont get wet.

Toodles and lighten up bruddah

Don’t mind humor at all - in fact enjoy it almost all day long . . . just don’t know why people don’t use a proper descriptive topic heading. You are right, I probably shouldn’t have clicked on it.

Because IM put a nice Spinlister/IM branded seat cover on my bike after IMLT 70.3 two years ago, and I needed to show it off.

It can lead to unexpected behaviour changing setup/preparation for races as opposed to training. In training I never have my bike rained on all night before I go ride.

Recent example: My powermeter workes fine 355 days of the year. Guess what happend to me in a recent Ironman after the bike was out in the rain the night before the race. Shoould the bike handle the rain: Yes. Does it always? No - and it might not be an actual defect but maybe just annoying creaking which for sure must cost 10W of mental energy…

AT IM Austria 2015, they actually gave us all these full bags to put over our bikes overnight… What a waste.

I think this goes back to when seats were mostly made of real leather. Back then it probably made sense, not so much anymore, but old habits die hard.

It’s called click bait or something like this!

There’s nothing wrong with the subject, there is a problem with absurdly vague thread titles.

There’s nothing the least bit funny about the title. The subject? Meh.

I don’t think you know funny…

Please do share oh great one of humor. You obviously had some free time today before your next set at the laugh factory so please do me a favor and enlighten me. Also if the vague topic / subject line bothered you why open it up and read it.?. more than 1x i might add as the reply was not to you directly so there wouldnt have been a notification. Uou just had to check back in on it. Tell me, in what other ways do you torture yourself.

Toodles

Seriously, that’s the best you can manage? I refer you to post #13.

What an ignorant dumbass.

Post clickbait topic titles?

First timers? Their shorts padding will be soaking wet. (Full IM switch to bike bibs in a change tent notwithstanding). No idea what covering the seat is supposed to do.

Covering the drivetrain makes sense to keep the chain clean and oiled. Maybe covering the entire bike to keep the water out of the frame or the wheel hubs? Bike is still rideable and perfectly safe with some water in there. Blast of air from a compressor when back at home will get the water out.

I refer you to post 13 and suggest that if you knew full well this was “click bait” yet you still clicked on it, you may be what you referred to me as. But hey if you wanna get this worked up about it to the point you need to start calling people who make no effort to insult you or anyone else names, then I feel bad for you.

Toodles and I hope you have a better day today then the last couple…

So, you’re switching from baiting to trolling?
And no, your argument is absurdly flawed. That post was the direct reply I came back to, which you’d claimed didn’t exist. The content of said post is irrelevant to the point at hand. To repeat myself, I don’t have an issue with the subject matter, I’m just criticising the title.

Don’t worry I’m neither worked up nor having a bad few days. Quite the contrary - I’m having a quiet couple of days in work so had time to amuse myself letting you trip yourself up. You wasted my conveniently wastable time first  …but I’m bored with this now.

you continuing to reply shows just how bored you are.
