Are the jerseys Green? Not that many past champions still racing. Not sure what the purpose of the program is unless they want to compete with Rev3 sponsored athletes? None of which are past IM world champions.

I thought this was going to be about the UCI announcing a doping amnesty to figure out who gets LA’s 7 tour wins.

“This new program is a terrific idea,” said Cherie Gruenfeld, 10-time IRONMAN World Championship age-group Champion. "This will provide athletes with extra incentive to do their best…

Oh my, I get a boy scouts badge if I win! Now I really need to try!

I like the phrase, “lasting legacy of the past.” It’s my most ever favorite repeating redundant words phrase… ever!

That’s cool and all but what if someone doesn’t want to wear the jersey? http://youtu.be/rGaqI20WHyk

Same here.

What, you don’t like future legacies? Good catch!

Thats a pretty cool picture of Rapp, no?

Yep. Maybe it’s just me…but I’d rather get paid to be a walking advertisement.

That you probably have to pay for.

(and note the age group jersey just has a red m-dot. Ummmm…think I have one of those)

That. Last time I bought a new car I told the dealer to either remove their badge from the car right away, or I would send them mobile billboard advertising invoice every month until they do. Same thing there. I wear no promo crap, unless it’s a sponsor and we got a mutually beneficial relationship.

You’re the kind of person who would look down on my “CarSense” tattoo.

I once had a dealer tell me that a dealer badge was required by law and removing it could cause me to get ticketed…Needless to say I bought my car elsewhere.

No, that’s the yet to be announced Scarlet Letter Program.

I like this phrase: “IRONMAN the largest participation sports platform in the world.” I’m all for puffery in promotions, but c’mon.

I’m guessing that the athlete will still be able to showcase their sponsors on the custom championship jersey, similar to what is done at the Giro de Italia and Tour de France. Overall, I am intrigued by the proposal.

That’s exactly what I thought. Then I wondered if they contacted past champs for their input.
