Solve your main problem but creates a new one, at least for me.
You can leave the bottle spout open and it will vent fine with no leakage. However, they will leak if you hit a bump, and if you are using them mounted between the aerobars they will leak on every bump. There is no solution except to close the valve, which defeats the purpose.
They would solve your problem if you are frame mounting.
In my experience every bottle I’ve had tends to leak over time. I like to fill my bottles a little less than full and I find that they leak less when I do this
I really like the Camelbak Big Chill bottles for between the arms.
Keeps my fuel bottle cold for up to 2 hours on a hot day, AND pretty much never leaks.
You can turn the valve so it WILL NOT LEAK, but then you hafta turn it back again each time.
Or leave it open, and it doesn’t leak about 99.9% of the time.
When new, I’ve had decent luck w/ Specialized bottles. But eventually, especially in the horizontal mode, they all seem to leak.
Little trick I use for race day - once I make my bottles, I put a strap of electrical tape (strap clockwise, so that the tape is pulling the cap tight). The tape does double duty - one: it keeps the cap tight; two: it serves as a seal.
I second that, never had any leak issues and the valve is very nice.
The only problem with the CamelBak’s I’ve had is due to the valve and trying to keep it clean. I dishwasher them after a ride and I’ve a few that have had crap grow in the valve area. Yes you can pull the clear rubber top off, but I’ve got one that still has stuff growing on the lid portion after bleaching it.
My problem with camelbak water bottles is only a few people give them away free. I haven’t spent a dime on a water bottle in years, and having to clean a little gatorade, etc., off my bike is a small price to pay for an otherwise free bottle. Especially when I clean my bike regularly anyway.
To prevent the brown growth, rinse the bottles/lids clean soon after the ride then throw them in the freezer – no growth in the freezer (do this for Camelbak bladder too).
To the OP: What bottles are leaking? Is it the valve or the lid? Never experienced any leaking with Specialized or Camelbak Podium.

I never thought of that. Brilliant. Thanks for the tip!
