Whites only church in MN receives permit

On December 9, Murdock City Council granted the Asatru Folk Assembly (AFA) a permit to turn the formerly run-down church it quietly purchased in June, into its ‘hof,’ or gathering place.

At the permit hearing:

AFA ‘Lawspeaker,’ Allen Turnage spoke at the permit application hearing and defended the group’s white only stance against allegations of supremacy with the words, “A hundred thousand years from now I want there to be blonde hair and blue eyes. I don’t have to be a German Shepherd supremacist to want there to be German Shepherds.

For City Attorney Wilcox, separatism does not equal supremacy. He said, “They don’t deny they are white separatists, they only allow white people in their church. **But they deny they’re white supremacists and there’s a distinction there.

They seem like nice folks just wanting their safe space…

The ironic thing is, at least in the picture, the man doesn’t have blond hair and the only reason the woman does is because it’s been colored. Not obvious blue eyes either.

Imagine being obsessed with such a thing.

“Separate but equal”
hmm, where have I heard that one before…

legally speaking, does it matter one bit whether they’re supremacists or not?

Sounds so familiar… can’t quite put my finger on it, though.

Has no one seen the obvious? What the hell are they doing in that church? Sounds more like a breeding program than any church service I’ve ever been to.

legally speaking, does it matter one bit whether they’re supremacists or not?

Not that part, but to kind of play on that thought for a second…

In lots of evangelical circles, they will turn themselves into knots to figure out inventive ways to claim “religious freedom” for whatever fucked secular world thing they want to do.

Extend that thought to things like gay conversion camps, discrimination (of any kind), and all sorts of other fun stuff…and the whole supremacist thing just becomes more background noise.

It’s not just one little church in nowheresville USA wanting an all white congregation, by law, that’s the problem. Sure, it’s lame. But, the problem is the wide swath of evangelical churches that pervert scripture to justify some kind of odd legal claims under the guise of “religious freedom”.

We’ve got a nation full of really strong evangelical lobbies that use this to exert power in government…and we don’t really bat an eye.

First thing I noticed.

also obvious: Jesus would not make the cut

This kind of behavior has been expressly approved by the supreme court, so l don’t see an easy way forward.

These church members, they sure as hell aren’t going to be baking any cakes for black or brown people.

Also obvious. Displaying Nazi symbols is a prime indicator that your church is totally not racist.

look at the upside. It will be pretty easy to identify who the racist asshats are in that town (and surrounding environs)

legally speaking, does it matter one bit whether they’re supremacists or not?

I could not have said it better.

It was already clear in that part of the state. Didn’t need the church to highlight it. And what is worse is, I doubt anyone in the community will really care if their neighbor/husband/wife/family member goes to the church.

This area of MN is where the Congressional Rep’s signed on to the contesting of the counting of votes even after the storming of the capitol. If they had not, they would not win re-election next time around.

The two things seem very correlated…

I want to know if they will receive tax exempt status.

Should have searched before I posted. They are recognized as a 501c3.

Now that is some bullshit.

If they had wanted an all white church that could have easily been achieved without any permits or charters or anything. They just could have refrained from inviting any black people.

What a sad bunch of dumb asses. The city should have forced them all to take a dna test and prove their claimed heritage. Is it ok to be trans-nationalist?

This is actually a good question. Could Rachel Dolezal attend this church? I wonder.

If she bleached her hair and got those blue contacts, she could pass.
