Curious if anyone has any insight into what happened here.
I followed the mineral spirits, degreaser, alcohol process and then upon drying out, this white crust started to form on some of the links.
A bit of searching is suggesting a zinc hydroxide rust? It’s very superficial and scratches off easily.
Any harm to chain integrity? What can be done to avoid this from happening again?
