Which Vittoria Tire Is Comparable to A Continental Gatorskin?

I’m looking for a durable training tire. I’m thinking Conti Gatorskin or 4000 but use Vittoria Corsa Evo CX for racing and am curious which of their tires would be good for training. Also, how does the 4000 compare to the Gatorskin? Thanks.

I LOVE the GP 4000’s w/Black Chili. I don’t know how they stack for rolling resistance and all that stuff, but, then again, I’m not losing races by mere seconds.

Gatorskins are okay. In my experience they have a fairly weak sidewall that can be prone to flats.

Disclaimer: I train and race Conti tires only so I may be slightly biased, but did use a lot of trial and error to get to this point.

I have had good luck (flat resistance, low price and good durability) from Vittoria Zaffiro training tyres.

I have a set of Vittoria rubino pro slick on my roadie and TT and have put several thousand miles on them with great durability. Only the occasional thorn in them other than that rather tough and affordable.

I have been using the Rubino Pro for a while now but mine are not slicks. I’m using them cuz I got a great deal on them, I’ll be going back to Gatorskins when my supply runs out.
