may be a stupid question, but what is crr and rolling performance? Is a higher number better?
michelin pro race 3 road tire, with some latex tubes.
That’s old data. Check out AFM’s most recent (3/20/10) posting here: http://www.biketechreview.com/...ire_testing_rev9.pdf
CRR is coefficient of rolling resistance. Lower is better.
The PR3 Lights roll slightly better than the standard PR3s. Those are both good tires, but there are better tires for race day. But there are always tradeoffs. Some of the best rollers are less reliable, or have shorter lifespans. You have to decide what is most important to you, and how much tradeoff you’re willing to make. I have used Michelin Pro Race series tires for many years in training. Right now I’m using the best Bontragers you see in the list for my race tires. I wouldn’t use them for everyday riding.
And as with the previous poster…invest in latex tubes for race day no matter which tires you choose.
