What’s the difference? I really don’t want to go with the new Ultegra SL because I think the color would look funny with the rest of my bike. So I am looking at the 2008 Ultegra FC-6650-S or the FC-R700 it replaced. It’s $225 v. $100. What did Shimano upgrade or change for the 6650? Anyone upgraded from the r700 to the 6650 and noticed any differences?

No idea on the difference, but R-700 was supposedly “Ultegra-level”. I’ve got a set on my race bike, and like them.
Where did you find them so cheap- I may pick up a set for another bike.
It’s the same thing, just added the weight up for the r700 and bb, its the same as the new one, just rebadging. Go for the r700. Where can you get it for that price?
