I’m riding a road bike with shorty aerobars - What do I look for in a new saddle?
Which saddle do you recommend?

EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, SOME WORK FOR SOME PEOPLE, SOME DON’T. I RIDE A SLR AND SOME PEOPLE HATE THAT SADDLE, ME AND MANY OTHERS LIKE IT.

Which ever fits you best. I have a Koobi Tri that I think is great but other people hate it. When I bought it Koobi was offering a 30 day money back guarantee. I think their web site is Koobi.com
Take a recommendation, a strong recommendation: Try a Fizik Arione. I can;t tell you how much I am impressed by this saddle. I am using it on both my road and my tri bike. No saddle pad, nothing. I am very impressed.
No saddle is perfect for everyone, but this Fizik Arione is a very strong offering. Try it, I bet you’ll like it.
Another that seems to be quite popular for many folks is the San Marco Azoto saddle. I tried quite a few saddles before finally settling in on this one.
Like everyone said though, the one that fits you is the best one. Everyone is different. Find a good local bike shop that will let you test different saddles and use the one that works for you.
I have a Koobi Tri and it’s the only saddle I have found comfort on riding in the aero position. The fact that everyone is different is a reason to try the Koobi-if you don’t like it, you can return it within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
I said this in the last saddle thread: the Fizik Aliante is far and away the best saddle I have ever used.

Like what the others have said, it solely rests on what fits/feels the best for you. I too have gone through the seat fitting torture and for me the best is the Selle Italia Prolink Composite Gel, which I have on both of my bikes.
