Which Pool in London?

I’ll be in London later next week for about 5 days. I’m staying in Kensington near the Gloucester tube station. I’ve done some research on pools in the area, any recommendations from anyone?

The pools I’ve found based on location are Kensington Sports Centre, Central London YMCA, Queen Mother Sports, and Imperial College. Which is the cleanest and least crowded?

Thanks, I will.

So, no one on here has ever gone to a pool in London?!!

Last time in London I stayed at the Meridien Piccadilly - which has a 15M square pool. It was the only reasonable pool I could find, and was OK, though a bit warm.

The Imperial College pool is the closest (i.e. walking distance). It was great 4 years ago (when I worked there) and has since been renovated. Call to check when the school kiddies aren’t using it. You could also try to join the Uni swim squad for a proper session, they used to train on Monday and Friday evenings.
I haven’t been to the others mentioned but Putney has a 33m pool which is nice and not too far away (Spencer Swim Squad trains there, google for details). In central London you should try the Covent Garden sports centre (not sure of the proper name). It has both indoor and outdoor 25m pools. Popular with the central London gay scene and very close to all that the West End has to offer…

If the Kensington Sports Centre is the one I am thinking of …stay away, you’re locker will get trashed and the contents removed, I’d opt for one of the others of Putney as mentioned, Putney is very good facility, for the UK anyway
