Faster wheelset? HED.3 or Stinger 60/90?
In most cases Hed3’s arefaster. However, the difference is pretty much negligible, so go with the ones that make you smile.

I smile a little more when I see HED.3’s :-)))
Don’t know about faster, but I reconn’d the mooseman course on spoked wheels and for the race I ran my Hed 3’s. I remember the course being a bit beat up, but the Heds… oy. super stiff wheels and not pleasant for a long race on bad roads.
Had them only at 110psi.
I asked Steve Hed and Andy(design/sales) specifically this spring about which set up was their all around fastest. “HED 3 in the rear and Jet 60 C2 or Stinger 60 on the front”.
I ended up buying a set of HED 3’s here on Slowtwitch but will sell the front any day now with the intention of buying a new JET 60C2.

Good info… thanks!
definitely not hed3s so horrible. such old technology.
I have been a F & R H3 guy for years and now use a 404 F and H3 R and like it much better. It seems like the bike reacts faster in the turns.
Not sure what your beef is with the HED wheels is, but there is still plenty of data that puts it as the fastest all around wheel ever (non disc). If you add in the all carbon tubular model, they are light as well. Just because something is old doesn’t mean it’s out dated. There were plenty of brilliant people 15-20 years ago thinking of ways to make people faster.

its all about balance.
I just had this same dilemma and here is what a tech told me at hed.
“I would use 60/90 in the C2 version. H3s would be my second choice. The wheelsets will go about equally fast, I like the C2s because the ride is better and rolling resistance is lower. To get optimum aerodynamics out of H3s you should run 19mm tires.”
I am still waiting for my order, so I will let you know my opinion after riding them
anyone have pics of Jet front/HED.3 Rear???
And Zipp counterweights the valve stem? I’ll give you one guess there.
Chris
Years ago I used to have a set of the Specialized version of teh H3, and while they looked v cool, the handling was CRAP!! bare in mind though that this was several years ago…
