Hi
I am looking to buy a HED aerobar, however, I find it somewhat difficult to identify which HED aerobar is the most overall adjustable and whihc is the most comfortable in terms of arm rests. Any HED owners who can give some advice?

Nobody?
Guess I can ask HED, but just thouhgt it would be nicer with some consumer thoughts than producer thoughts.
I have an older pair and find them very comfortable… What are you looking for in terms of adjustment?
Either the Vantage 8 or Black Dogs. personally I like the Lazy s bends.
If I can help feel free to call or e-mail me. also Slowtwichers get 10% off.
Cheers,

The Blackdogs are far from adjustable out of the box. However, you can order risers and wider arm pad rests directly from Hed.
If you want a really adjustable setup, go with an Oval Concepts bar.
I have been using the Blackdogs for some time. They are far more adjustable than anything else out there. Plus, there are different pad sets and angled risers you can look into. I am now switching to the Corsairs on behalf of the new UCI rule that makes no sense but they are set up exactly like the Blackdogs. Blackdogs are nice because you have built in carbon brake levers with great spring action, and solid base bar that does not flex, and the adjustability of the Clip Lites that allow for lateral and vertical adjustability along with extensions that can be lenghtened or shortened. Plus, you can choose between ski-bends, S-bends, or Lazy S’s when you order them. Cups include the triangular version that is stock on the bar, rounds, and they have a new pad set that can be seen on the Corsairs. Call them, talk to them, they will guide you the right way.
Hi,
Is your blackdog aerobar for sale?
Thanks
Denis
Oh related to this topic, is there any real performance difference between the sloped winged aerobars and the normal ones?
I suppose it would be like riding the drops on a road bike?
I have the original HED one-piece aerobar (the one w/integrated w/brakes). I chose this bar because it is extremely adjustable from a width point of view. I have very large shoulders and wanted to place the pads farther apart than most aerobars would allow. You can do that with this HED aerobar and actually angle the extensions in towards each other. I find this position very comfortable since it allows me to open up my chest and breathe more easily.
Not sure if that’s what you mean by adjustable, but you can check out more pics of it on my 08 Felt B12 that I’m selling in the Classifieds. Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention that the arm pads can be adjusted fore and aft as well. This combined with available risers from HED and width adjustability make it pretty easy to dial in a comfortable position.
I went w/ the V8’s. Had to order the wider arm pad brackets, as the stock ones were too narrow for me to get comfy.
Took a while for me to settle in, but I find the setup VERY comfy now. HED armrests and pads are like 1000% better than Profile.
The V8 base bar is ridiculously stiff. Pretty light too, and looks quite fetching. Goes very nicely w/ my old(er) B2, same color scheme and similar graphics.
