Where to stay for IM Florida

Any recommendations for lodging (or where not to stay) for IM Florida?
Looking for affordable/economic lodging rather than expensive but will consider moderate pricing.
Thanks for info

If you have friends/family going down, it’s a steal. We had a 3BR condo on the ocean for a week…it was ~$800. It was great. Fully-furnished. Included beach towels, washer/dryer and even a highchair if you have a infant(s) coming along.

That time of year condo rentals through vrbo.com is a great way to go… I stayed at Gulf Crest and had great accommodations and was not too far (mile .7 I believe on the run course).

my .02 and beware that you know the address of the actual property since many times the address listed is the leasing office and not the “resort” or complex where you wold be staying…

Have fun!

Google Whispering Seas. Very affordable and the guy that owns it is great.

I have stayed at the Gulfcrest condo four times, which is at about mile 0.6 of the run course, so the location is very good, you can walk to the expo, race start, etc. It is about six years old, very nice. I think there is a new (to me) leasing company handling arrangements now.

We stayed at the Moondrifter Condos. Great location. It’s on the run course and is less than a quarter mile from the finish line. They were updating some of the units. Our unit was nice and more than adequate for what we needed. But the newer ones (like the one my sister stayed in) were even nicer. Maybe by this November they will all be finished.

I can dish up one of the owners who has 28 units. IMO, wait until October for the best pricing…there will certainly be A LOT of foreclosures in that area b/w now and then which would perhaps mess up and deposit situation. It was pretty ugly last year and only has gotten worse. I bet the City Counsel would have loved to have the spring breakers back.
