Where to go in California? Help me in my travel

I am not from US and will go San Francisco next november for a work meeting. After that, I will have a week for vacations. Where to go? I was thinking to visit Yosemite Park. Suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Sorry, this was supposed to be at Lavender room.

Napa or Sonoma Co. wine country
Lake Tahoe
Monterrey/Carmel area
Yosemite

All are good options. Where are you from and what do you want to do/see? Are you going to rent a car, or fly somewhere?

I am from Brazil and will rent a car for a week. I would like to go those places that are not on the “maps”. Those places that only who lives in the area knows that they are really good. Like that: If you visit Brazil, don´t go only to Rio or Salvador. There are other nice cities to go.

BTW, congratulations for racing IM Brazil.

Cathy, isn’t Yosemite ridiculously crowded this time of year?

will go San Francisco next november (from the OP)

Not at that time of year, though depending on when it snows and starts closing roads, it might be un-visitable…

…or some such word like that.

Whoops…conveniently ignored the “when” part of the original post.

Depends on what you like to do. I like to climb in the winter so Joshua Tree would be nice that time of year but a little far. Yosemite as mentioned might be snowed in. Death Valley is ridiculously far but is extremely cool. San Francisco itself has a lot to see. Napa & Sonoma if you like wine. Monterey & Carmel… go see the aquarium. And there might be snow in Tahoe. Give us an idea of what you’d like to do.

The park, even when crowded doesn’t ever really feel super crowded (at least to me)
