Okay that is exactly what it is. So I saw some people running in those and I was hoping they would be like a compression sleeve for running but also enable you to run more erect but now it appears that it’s only something that you pull out of your pocket and Put on when I gets cold. Does it have any compression features. I would be more interested in something that would provide a support to the back when running or even a little bit of massage to the neck
No, it’s a very light material. Purely for protection from the sun, and so that you can soak it with cold water.

They don’t make wings like you saw, but the CW-X stuff supposedly helps support the upper back and shoulders.

If it was for looks and not sport, a girl would call it a “shrug” - my fiance is in LOVE with his white cool wings (we adore DeSoto products in general…) but he’s a big guy who overheats so these were a game-changer for his happiness. They soak up water and keep him cool. I also like that I don’t have to scream at him to keep putting on sunblock, as they add a layer of sun protection.

That is precisely what I was looking for although they talk about the sleeveless water model being better because the armpits can get shaped. That would probably be a good shirt to wear because often when we run we sort of lean forward and look at the ground a little bit too
+1 on the Intelliskin (also great for travel). They are pricey but last a long time- a couple of mine are 2+ years old and still have wear left in them.
