TripleThreat are you out there man? 20 posts a day to nothing, man talk about cold turkey…
Proabably hanging out with his kids. Man, does he have his priorities messed up.
He’s doing “research” on evolution.
That cracked me up - and they say you have no sense of humor ![]()
.
Earth to TripleThreat, Earth to TripleThreat, you out there baby???
He mentioned something about spending way too much time on the 'net, so he’s gotten rid of internet at home.
He’ll occasionally submit a flurry of posts when he’s in school.
I’m still here. I did get rid of the internet at home b/c I was spending too much time on it. I do miss the discussions, but not enough to cut the other stuff out.
I train afterschool (3pm) till 4-4:30, play with my kids (3-year old son and newborn daughter) till it’s time to start preparing dinner, eat, get my toddler in the bath and all PJ’d up, spend some time with wife till it’s time to put the toddler to bed, get clothes ironed for the next day and meals prepared, then it’s either to prepare stuff for school (note-taking guides, powerpoint presentations, research projects, etc), also studying many things including creation/evolution (information theory for the last coupla weeks … important, but not all that interesting) <–good guess Ken. I am also working my way through the Bible, and making sure I am living my life how I should be living it … all day, every day. I start earning my masters degree in the fall.
I need fewer interests or more hours in the day. =)
I am also looking for a long course race (1/2 IM) around Illinois to replace the one that got cancelled. If anyone has any ideas, post em up.
I try to post during lunch/prep period … but I usually don’t get involved in anything I don’t have time to participate in, which leaves very little. I scan the topics to find training related things that concern my situation.
Maybe I can sneak up here one night on summer vacation and start 25 threads or something. Cool?
Okay, copies of tomorrow’s test are made … gotta hit the grocery store, then DQ. I’m out like grunge metal.
Whirlpool Steelhead 1/2 IM in St. Joe Mi. on Aug 1st was a very good race last year. The only wildcard is the water temp of Lake Mi… It could be from 52 to 78. Last year it was in the low to mid 60,s (very nice)
Awesome. I’ll see ya there! Thanks, 'preciate it.
“your training opportunities will improve gradually as that newborn grows up”
Training opportunities get even better when she is 20 and is going to college/summer job in another town!! Don’t blink TT, it’ll be happening faster than you realize. Enjoy them while they’re small because it doesn’t last long.
Thanks for the words, guys.
If they wake up they go turn on tv in den by themselves. I was once a night person, but am now a morning person.
Working on that right now. Trying to change from a nightowl to a rooster.
I’m looking forward to having my son “pace” me as he’s riding his bike as I am running while pushing my daughter in a “running stroller”, with my wife riding with us. Run/bike 6 miles to DQ, enjoy some ice-cream … head home. That’s a good day in my book.
I’m not too worried about training and time allocation. I got into this deal for the competition, but that has been replaced for doing it for fun, stress release, health, and a lean appearance (and, well, a tan), as well as modeling for my kids on how to be a well-rounded person. Training now seems to be more about “escaping to my own little world of endurance therapy”.
God blessed me with a son that is ticklish on his neck, his armpits, his ribs, his thighs (“cow bites”), and his feet. Anytime I need to be put in a good mood or be reminded what life is about, I know what to do ij order to hear the most beautiful sound in the world … a child’s laughter. Next to hugs and kisses, it’s the best treatment a dad can get.
Okay, I’m just rambling now. Have a nice evening folks
If you keep this up

Your priorities will be in order.
