If a choice between Flo Aluminum Carbon or Hed Jet, Are flo wheels any slower? (despite Hambinis claims)
HED Jet wheels consistently at or near the top in every comparative test I have seen. Yes, Jets are probably faster than FLO…And Zipp, and Enve, and Roval…
Here’s an old test from Tom A:
http://bikeblather.blogspot.com/2015/10/win-tunnel-playtime-part-1.html?m=1
Keeping in mind that it was an old Flo 90 with aluminum brake track.
WRT to Hambini, fake aero test, fake lawyer letters, being banned from Twitter for misogyny etc…all that aside I am beginning to doubt if he’s actually an engineer, let alone a PhD. In one of his recent Q&A he states that head tube shape and things like aero brakes don’t matter because of all the air coming back from the front wheel, lol.

If you believe your signature, why even post this?

Because my competitors work hard also, Doesn’t mean I want to leave anything on the table
Get Winspace Hyper or Lun
.
Plus that is the absolute dumbest signature and reeks of someone who has a chip on their shoulder about aero gains other people ‘buy’.
A few hours in the tunnel will probably find more time than months or years of training.
Training is dam important for sure, but aero is king when it comes to speed on a TT bike. Training being queen of course!
Damn. Did OP kick your puppy or what? Dial the sensitivity down a few notches.
Get **Winspace Hyper **or Lun
Joking or serious?
- I’d be really hesitant to buy a wheelset that not only claims to be more aero than the industry leaders, but -also- about a pound lighter??
and even worse, from their website:
- “Independently wind-tunnel tested by Hambini Engineering”
No thanks
Winspace seems to be spending a lot right now on the YouTube cycling influencer market. I’m seeing a bunch of reviews / build videos.
The Hunt wheels you see on Qhubeka Assos bikes are rebadged Hypers.

Link? Where did you read that?

Picture looks like a dear ringer for a Hyper and down in the comments Joe mentions this.
Pretty sure that’s “China Cycling” Joe who does work for Winspace.
Never heard a rumour about Flo getting rebadged.
If it’s been done, willing to bet it was a disc.
The picture looks like a Hyper 38mm.

Hunt does have a 36mm wheel…

**Relax Karen, **
You can buy all the free speed you want! But it doesn’t matter one bit if you dont put the work in. So I would venture to say Training is king and any marginal gain is the queen.

Did you read the response from the owner of Hunt? Read the follow up, He’s basically saying that why would he buy Winspace rims when due to his ordering capacity he can buy good rims from whoever he wants.
“Joe†might be some random guy on the internet, if he actually works for Winspace then my “super sketchy†alarm goes off.
Combine this with hiring Hambini to fabricate aerodynamic data for you???
Maurice
I debated the same thing for too long. I owned a set of the original 60/90 Flos and was pleased with them. I sold them when I left racing for 4 years. I wanted to avoid getting a really deep wheel again for the rear as I hate the issues of needing an extender for them. I just bought a new set and was going back and forth with what set to get. Ultimately I went with the He’d jet black plus 6/9 combo and am very impressed with them. I have a trek SC and the braking is great. I ultimately bought them because of the aerotest on youtube where they beat the other wheels except for the enve 7.8s (for $2500+).
I decided not to get carbon rims but think Flo customer service and support is great. They are easy to find and contact and they often post their personal cell numbers here.
Get what you like for the money and how you think it will look on your bike. I do like how flo has the cool sticker choices.
Mybineshop has sales and I got mine for a good deal.
Good luck.
Why do you hate valve extenders?

Flo aluminum/carbon is a pretty old wheel. For that generation of wheels, the Jets would be my pick. I have had both the aluminum wheels and the durability of the HEDs has been much better. Really the HED Jets are still a great design. They really nailed that design and they are fast with a wide range of different tires.
I wouldnt be so quick to knock the winspace wheels. A friend bought a pair to replace a pair of Scope wheels- I’, ve seen them in the flesh. They are really well built and very light- saved about 300-400g off his previous wheels.
I would not be surprised if winspace manufactures rims for Hunt at all.
Yea you can get trash out of china or you can grt a good product but based on this example I dont think they fall under the ‘crap’ category.
