Where are the Garmin Training Center .tcx File containing ONLY 1 Activity stored on a HD?

From the Garmin310xt, I can’t find them anywhere. They are not within the Garmin Training center files. I can get clustered activities but not single ones. Its impossible to upload to tp.com clustered. Any help would be appreciated and save me bothering my IT buddy.

I had to do some digging the first time as well. Mine ended up on the desktop. One easy way to find them is just to do a search with “ACT” in the search field, and they should come up. Also noticed that Internet Explorer will give you the option to designate a location to save the file, whereas Firefox just puts it on my desktop (no option to save in a specific folder).

Hope that helps.

thanks AMy! I tried that to no avail. I searched under all the options within tp.com and still can’t find the files. I think its time to call my IT buddy over.

What operating system?

Mine (Windows Vista) stores them in what was originally a hidden folder at…

C:/Users/(User Name)/AppData/Roaming/Garmin/Devices/(Device ID)/History

I tried for a couple of days to find them before turning on the hidden folders. Then, Bingo!

Steve

If you’re on a Mac, PM DrPete. He knows where they’re stored.

Bingo is right! thanks mickstar. i dragged the w/o from garmin training center to wk0+ then imported from wko+ to tp.com and bingo! it worked and looks great.

Another “issue” I ran into was with Auto Multisport.

Auto Multisport workouts are auto-saved as single files (ie. all the activities are saved in the same file). But, they show up as individual workouts in Gamin Training Center and Garmin Connect. So, if you need to break them up to import into other software, you’ll need to do a manual export of the individual activity files from the Garmin software first.

Glad it worked! I was getting pretty frustrated trying to find them when I went through this.

Steve

you are one step ahead of me mickstar. i was thinking how the heck am i going to break the multisport files up? i ought to try figuring that out now. its kind of like doing a jigsaw pussle. i have a better idea now if what to do so i should be able to figure it out. thankfully i had wko+. lots of folks don’t.

It’s the same with RaceDay, too.

In Garmin Training Center, just select the individual bike/run/whatever from the Auto Multisport, then go to File/Export and save it in the same folder where all the others are saved. It will auto-name it something slightly different than the original (multisport) file. At least that’s how it works for me…

I’m assuming all of you guys are on a PC.

I’m uploading to Training Center, then exporting it to a seperate file. No problems there.

Bring up Training Peaks and attempt to download it and nothing appears. In 2.0 it gives me a file not supported (even though it’s saved as a .tcx file with one activity). In 3.0 it has a status bar uploads and then just dissapears.

Weird!

Just got this from Training Peaks:

Thanks for the email. Depending on the version of Garmin Training Center will determine if you can export .tcx files correctly. Please note that this functionality is not available on the MAC version of Garmin TC. You must be using the windows version to export the activity correctly.

Follow the instructions in the link below for updating to the latest version of Garming Training Center.
