My draft is coming up on 8/30 and as I’ve done every year in my league for the past 6 I’ll go and pick up a fantasy magazine. Look through it and come draft day just mostly pull out randoms that are at the top and sleepers that ESPN swears by.
I’ve come never finished worse than 7th(out of 10) and better than 4th but I can honestly say this is what makes football fun for me to watch other than my team playing.
Any ST’ers have an inside line on a sleeper or must pick? We do ESPN and skype our draft because many of us live across the country so I don’t have my draft number yet.
You’ve got one right here. Absolutely love it. We have 10 guys that started playing FF in college and we’ve had the same league and group for 7-8 years now. I’ve won it twice (playoffs), won the regular season once and finished dead last twice!
Anyone who plays FF knows how much you LOVE it… and how much you actually end up saying, “I fucking HATE fantasy!” almost weekly.
We’ve finally convinced a majority to move to a keeper league this year (great for me as I drafted Ray Rice in the 12th round last year!) and I’m lobbying to have an auction draft next year… but baby steps with our guys.
We have half our league around the KC area, then the other half has spread out after college, so we just all dial into a conference line and tell each other how stupid each pick is for four hours. Some of the best four hours of the year!!
Our draft is on the 26th (a Thursday night… obviously everyone has kids now!), so I haven’t started researching quite yet. Looking forward to the season though!
I hate to admit this, I usually do pretty well in the FF league I am in (mostly cause 5 of the 10 team owners are idiots) but I am usually in the top 3. I ran the ST FF league a few years back and I think again I was top 3 (might have won but I don’t remember).
My draft day strategy… Let the computer pick… But be on top of injuries and pick some stud backups to injury prone starters.
depends on all of your rules, i’ll be drafting RB.RB,WR, wait on carson palmer as my sleeper.
rookie rb in san diego, it is tough with all these backs spliting carries, one rushes all day and one back for red zone…good luck.
pm me if you want to talk.
