Does anyone bother reporting this stuff?
Just bought a Prologo saddle, and its definitely a fake. I can just tell by the quality. Does anyone ever do anything, or is it far too much hassle than its worth? I’m thinking the later, as its not cost me the earth.

Absolutely, it is not about the money it is about saving someone from potentially ending up with life-threatening crash from a cheap knock-off that isn’t built to spec.

Never! I figure if I fell victim to it, other people should too. Who cares if somebody gets hurt in the process.
Also, when I see a crime being committed, I don’t call the police. I just look the other way.

If the price of the item was on the level where it is fair to expect that it’s fake, then no.
But if you paid say half the rrp, then yes.
File a SNAD complaint with eBay and get a 100% refund and the seller gets to pay for the return shipping.
Fortunately eBay sides nearly 100% with the buyer so in your case you can (as mentioned) file complaint and get money back.
Unofficially, what was price and where was buyer located? Was it listed as genuine merchandise? Were real photos of product shown or was it a stock photo? What kind of feedback had the seller already received? And how objectively different from the original is the product?
You don’t need to “report” it, but you should get all your money back, including shipping. If it said the saddle brand anywhere in the ebay listing, and you got a fake, then the listing was “not as described.” That means you can go through the ebay return/refund process at zero cost to you. And you should do it.
