I have a pair of brook Adrenalines with 240 miles on them- including the Chicago marathon 2 weeks ago. Something about running a marathon always makes me want to replace the shoes when I start fresh. Should there be more life in them?
I’m 5’10" weighed about 165 throughout the course of training. Slight pronantion.
You can probably wear them still, unless they feel worn out. I can always tell when the support is gone from my shoes. Typically you can get 350-500 mi out of a pair of running shoes, so yours are probably good for more training.
I think it depends on the shoe, I wear the Mizuno Wave Rider 8’s, love’em but they breakdown faster then most training shoes. I replace them after about 300-350 miles.
How long have you been running? When I first started running more or less seriously, at least compared with most Americans, I couldn’t get much more than 225 miles on them before my legs or knees started to bother me. Now, my legs are a lot more accustomed to running, I weigh a lot less and my running form is presumably better and I can get more like 350 to 375 out of a pair of shoes before the same thing happens. IMO, buying a new pair of running shoes before the old ones are quite worn out is like changing the oil in your engine every 3000 miles. Not necessary, but a fairly cheap way of increasing the lifespan of each vehicle.
