It seems to me that shimano is losing a lot of revenue by not having a compact crankset. So why don’t they have one? Or is there one in the works?
next year a nameless 105 level crankset will hit the shelves. Tom D reported on this a while back
Shimano recently sent a letter out detailing the compact crank and stated that it will be available in Nov/ Dec. It will not be a DA, Ultegra named piece.
Shimano DA carbon wheels later this year as well.
Riding tubulars on a daily basis,
Can’t believe how much they’ve missed the boat on this. They must be putting a lot more effort into their fishin’ gear these days.
Lots of good Shimano compatible reasonably priced compacts out there. No need to wait until November.
Larry is there any material that you do like?
But wont it (ride like aluminum?) Just messing with you!
You sound like Grant Petersen w/o the loyal following of weirdos.

Yes.
2 Months.
But, they aren’t losing money from not having it…matter of fact, just the opposite. As with any good business decision, situations have changed in which they need to release it sooner.
