Is there a reason that toes need to be squished? Not a loaded question just wondering.
manufacturers and consumers choosing fashion over function. Especially in running shoes, the forefoot should be wide enough for the foot to splay naturally when landing.
It drives me nuts when shoes squeeze my forefoot and don’t let it splay naturally.
maybe you just have fatty feet
.
Because some people have narrower feet than you.
based on my observations, caucasians have narrower feet across the board and that people from india have very wide feet.
With a wide shoe my feet slide around inside of them and I get blisters on my toes.
Just about every shoe I try on is too wide and I have a normal width foot (or so I thought) Because of that I normally wear ladies shoes.
Sometimes it’s hard to find good shoes in a W10.5 or 11 that aren’t pink

I wear a 10.5 EEE. I can’t wear any of the cool new shoes because of it. The only thing that fits is the Newton guidance trainer that comes in a EE. Bums me out that I can’t wear any of the awesome stuff from Asics or Saucony… or any of the others for that matter. If Newton were to discontinue that model (it’s already hard to find except from Newton directly) I don’t know wtf I would do.
I can special order the Nike Lunarglide 2 in a wide but it’s over $200 that way and no try on for fit beforehand. No thanks.
Have you come upon a manic obsessive shoe phase?
You are non stop with the shoe thing lately. Less yapping, more running.

What do you mean by “the awesome stuff”? Most of the major brands make a good number of their shoes in 2E, some even in 4E. Which shoes are you looking to try?
Racing flats. Asics Hyperspeeds/Piranha, Brooks ST5/T6/T7, Saucony Kinvara, Zoot, Nike, etc. Name one good racing flat that’s available in wide. Even NB’s newest racers are medium width only (which is surprising considering they have all kinds of other EE and EEEE models.)
The only one that I know of with a low heel-to-toe height difference is the Newton Sir Issac trainer in wide… and Newton doesn’t even have racers in wide. It’s a bummer.
cool new shoes: new balance minimus trail. they’ll fit your feet just fine. that might not be enough to convince you to love them though
Try K-Swiss. I do not have a wide foot but I have a neuroma between my 2nd and 3rd metatarsal heads that developed two years ago on my right foot. I switched to K-Swiss shoes and they had a wider forefoot that allowed my foot to spread out because if it does not, the pain of the compressed nerve hurts and stops me in my tracks.

Adidas adizeros? They seem narrow to me. I used the adios.
I saw on in an old thread that you said you have narrow feet and have trouble finding shoes. Recently ASICS changed the shoe I’ve been wearing for over 10 years.
What are you wearing now.
